It’s funny how we are creatures of habit.
Our days on the trail went something like this–
Wake up at 4:15.
Take down tent, pack up gear, poop. On the trail by 4:50ish.
Hike for about an hour then start eating an on-the-go breakfast while we continued hiking.
Stop by a water source around 9-10am to cook a second breakfast, filter water, brush teeth. We’d eat ramen, rice, or Knors noodles. Somehow I managed not to eat a single packet of Idahoans ✓ score!
Climb, pause to breathe, drink water. Climb, pause to breathe, drink water. Climb, pause to breathe, drink water. Take pictures from summit. Eat snacks. Descend, descend, descend. Repeat as many times as the day calls for.
Stop again mid afternoon to eat a late lunch. Sometimes cooking if by a water source, sometimes eating nutella and peanut butter wraps.
Hike until 6:30-7:30pm. Taking short breaks as needed until we find a good camp site.
Set up camp, eat again, tend to feet.
Asleep by 8-8:30pm and ready to do it all again the next day.
