GC2015 Trip Report [Day 1 | 20 November 2015]

I’m doing this a bit backwards, but after completing the GC2017 trip report I figured I might as well add GC2015 as well.

Same scenario– I originally posted a daily trip report to social media, but am converting those posts to blog posts. I realized that my approach to documenting GC2015 was not nearly as good as GC2017. But! There are some pretty good photos. Photos I realized I didn’t capture the second time around, such as the daily documentation of the groover location and our specific tent site.

GC2015 was a very different experience than GC2017.

Enjoy!

And we’re off! Our first day on the Colorado River. There are no words to describe the feeling of pushing off from shore, and knowing you’re on your own for the next 20+ days.

Frightening, exhilarating, freeing.

An example of what our coolers look like. We have fresh produce for 23 days! The morning of rig day we had orientation with Donny from Canyon REO, and afterwards REO demoed some of the gear.

Yep, that’s a lot of gear. And beer. Lots of beer.
