If you were to look around at the successful people in your life you might notice a few commonalities between them.
Success is part luck. But mostly, success is determined by the actions we choose to take (or not take).
If success is something you want to achieve– in life, fitness, business check out these 4 Daily Habits of Successful People.
1. Successful people plan out their day the night before.
Seriously– game changer. Planning your day out the night before gets you focused. When you have clear goals, and you know what needs to get done first, you are able to execute to your plan. When I don’t take the time to plan, don’t know what is most important, and don’t know what needs to get done I feel like I’m floundering. Not a good feeling.
My best tip would be to take some time at the beginning of your week to plan. Plan your workouts. Plan your meals. Make sure you know when and where you have meetings, appointments, and commitments. Do a brain dump of everything, big and small, that needs to be accomplished in the upcoming week. I even go as far as adding “put away laundry” and “feed the chickens” to my list. Once you do a brain dump, divvy up the tasks to days of the week that make the most sense.
Then each night before you go to bed, revisit your list. What is critical for you to accomplish the next day? Do you have any new tasks that should be added? Make a short list of the most important tasks that need to be accomplished the next day.
2. Successful people focus on their personal development.
Ah. One of my favorites. Personal development is super important.
One of the worst things that can happen to you is to look back on your life a year from now and realize you are exactly the same. In exactly the same place. Doing exactly the same thing. No growth. Just floating along day-to-day doing the minimum to get by.
That is seriously a scary thought.
Instead, get inspired. Read books. Listen to podcasts. Be a habitual learner. Find a topic you are interested in and learn, learn, learn.
I have committed to my personal development each day. As part of my weekly planning, I download podcasts that I am interested in and create a playlist for the week. When I get ready in the morning, I listen to the podcast. No additional thought needed since I’ve already done the pre-planning! Plus, it kills two birds with one stone #winning.
3. Successful people make their health a priority.
Successful people understand that if they want to continue being successful, they need to make their health a priority.
You will often find successful people up early to get their workout in before their day begins. They make sure to get daily exercise, eat a healthy diet, and rest. When you are sick, it is difficult to accomplish the tasks you need to do to be successful in your life and business. Everything is more difficult when you are not feeling 100%.
You might be thinking, “But Amanda, I am so busy trying to get XYZ done every single day. How do you expect me to find time to exercise and cook a healthy meal?”
A little bit of tough love here– if you want it bad enough, you will find a way.
4. Successful people don’t get distracted by what other people are doing.
Who can relate to this??
Social media makes it way too easy to compare ourselves to others. Stop the comparison. Do what is right for you– in your personal life, in your fitness, in your business.
When you see someone doing something you wish you were doing– congratulate them. When you see someone killing it in their goals– cheer them on.
When we support and uplift others– we win. There’s enough internet out there for everyone. You do you. Don’t get distracted or worry about what everyone around you is doing.
So tell me– are you already implementing any of these habits into your daily routine? Which ones? Which of these habits will you focus on this week?
