Fueled by Hemp – Hemp Heart Bar Review

This post was sponsored by Manitoba Harvest. As always, opinions are my own.

We’ve all heard time and time again the benefits of protein, especially post-workout. Protein aids in muscle recovery, helps you build lean muscle and keeps you full longer.

A few months ago I was introduced to a new-to-me type of protein. Hemp protein.

I was slightly unsure at first. There are so many misconceptions out there regarding hemp, and unfortunately it colored my initial perception of the product.

Once I did my research and actually tried hemp protein I loved it! I’ve been sprinkling Hemp Hearts on my salads and adding them to my breakfast smoothies. So so so healthy {and delicious!}.

I was pretty excited when I found out that Manitoba Harvest was introducing a new hemp product– Hemp Heart Bars.

Now all the yummy benefits of hemp protein are in an easy to store, easy to carry and easy to eat form.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart Bars are crafted with the goodness of hemp and other tasty ingredients too. There are three different delicious flavors to choose from– vanilla, chocolate and apple cinnamon. Each 45 gram bar contain 10 grams of plant-based protein and 10 grams of omegas. Whether you grab one for a pre-workout snack or nutrition on the go, these convenient bars are sure to get you through your busiest day.

I tried the vanilla flavor after a tough morning strength workout. I expected it to taste like the Hemp Hearts I had been enjoying on my salads recently. The Hemp Heart Bar had a slightly stronger “green” or “raw” taste to it. Not bad, just a taste I’m not entirely used to. As you would expect, the chocolate Hemp Heart Bar had a strong chocolate flavor to it. If you are a chocolate-lover like me, then you’re up for anything chocolate!

The Hemp Heart Bar was right on par with other nutrition bars I eat on a regular basis. At 240 calories, 10 grams of protein and only 8 grams of sugar, Hemp Heart Bars are a good healthy choice to fuel your active lifestyle.
